Anniversary hooks

I have been checking out possibilities for the anniversary hooks. I personally now have three hooks engraved with the name and dates. I love them all! I thought I'd just give all the information for the hooks I purchased and anyone who is interested can order one for herself. If you let me know you will be ordering and what size and design you are interested in, I can let the seller know to expect an order - though this is not a requirement. If you give them the needed info, I am sure they will be able to accommodate you.

You can choose the hook size you prefer as well as Bates or Boye style.

The hook size is on the top of the hook. This one is an I. Very smooth. Fits well in the hand.

anniversary hooks

I'm sorry to say that Craft Designs For You no longer makes the painted wooden hooks. I am looking for another source. 

There is a shop on Etsy that will etch the name Crochet Cabana and the dates 1997-2017 on a hook. I have ordered one to see how it looks. However, the cost is a bit more than I was hoping, almost $40. 

There is a person who expressed some interest in making hooks but before he commits he needs to know an approximate number that he would have to make. If that should work out, I think the cost would be less.

If you are interested in a hook, please do let me know. Even if you are not willing to spend that much, let me know you have some interest so I can ask dealers if they can handle the number of orders that may be received. This is NOT a commitment to buy. I just need to know if anyone is interested at all. 

I am also very open to investigating other sources. My main criteria is that it has the name and date, which is what marks the anniversary. I would also prefer it to be wooden. I'm pretty open on any other details.

What's on my hook now is a small numberghan to go with the alphabetghan just finished, just like the one I made previously but with different colors. Im also thinking of putting the pattern up at Ravelry and Etsy if there is interest.

20 years commemorative hook

In October of this year Crochet Cabana will have been on the Internet for 20 years. Wow. Seems like yesterday that I started this journey.

For the 10 year anniversary I commissioned special wooden crochet hooks to be made. I was considering doing this again for the 20th if enough folks are interested and it can be arranged with the same wonderful company I worked with before - Craft Designs For You. I have contacted CD4Y to find out if they still do custom hooks, if there is a minimum order, and what the price would be for such hooks.

If you are interested in having a 20 year hook (1997-2017) holler out and let me know. You can message me on Facebook, comment on the Facebook page, comment here on the blog, send a message from the blog, or email me privately at crochetcabana@gmail.com. You don't have to make a firm commitment at this time as I don't know prices and other information. I just want to know if there is any interest at all.

Here is what the hooks looked like then. I cannot remember for sure how much the hooks cost, but will update this post when I hear back from Cherie.

Crochet Cabana new look

Crochet Cabana has a new look.

I am pleased to announce that the new, updated Crochet Cabana is now live. I hope you all enjoy it.

My thanks to my wonderful daughter, Kate, who did the bulk of the work on this site. She will be helping me to learn the program so I can make necessary updates as time goes on.

My thanks also to my son-in-law who helped with text editing even though I'm sure reading about crocheting was not at the top of his to-do list. LOL

Finally, my thanks to my husband, who has long been my go-to tech support for Crochet Cabana and was an essential member of the team as we got things ready and uploaded the new site today.

I appreciate all the work each of them have done to get this site up.

It's unbelievable to me that it's been 15 years since Crochet Cabana debuted in October 1997. I hope you all continue to enjoy the site and particularly that you like the new look and the changes that were made. I'll be highlighting various pages on Facebook over the coming weeks if you happen to be a member there.

Also, I have brought back some very old patterns which have been updated, some with new photos. I have tried to give them all the same basic format as I went through them. I'd like to remake each item in the future, both to verify instructions and to update photos.
