granny square and ruffle scarf

This scarf is a joint effort between my friend Fran and myself. Fran made the squares and sent them to me over a period of time. I assembled them using the continuous join method and will be sending the completed scarf out tomorrow to Threads of Compassion.

Finished size is 8" x 65". The edging is Red Heart dark teal.

Going along with Fran's scarf is this one I made earlier in the year. This is the ruffled scarf. I made a video a couple of months ago to demonstrate how I did it. The video is in two parts. Here is part one. You can find part 2 at my YouTube channel here.

Happy crocheting!

  1. Love the joint effort scarf. I need to find someone to do something like that with because I enjoy making squares and other motifs but hate joining so almost never do it!

  2. There are several places that accept squares. Love Afghans for Pine Ridge will take any size square. Sandy at The Bridge Project takes squares at certain times of year. Share a Square takes 6" squares with a long tail left at the end for sewing. If you need further info on any of these, give me a holler and I'll get links for you. I wouldn't mind joining some squares also. I have been assembling them for the nursing home as I can.
