Jeweltone and Teal scarf

The Red Heart Soft Jeweltone came in today and I got right to work assembling and edging the teal scarf.

The squares for this scarf were made by Fran Metallo. The finished scarf will go to Threads of Compassion, which provides comfort to victims of sexual violence.

I'm very pleased with the way this scarf turned out. Fran did a marvelous job on the squares using the pattern by Susan Smith called Filet Granny Square. She left a really long tail which made it so very easy to whipstitch the squares together.

The Jeweltone brings a bit of extra color to the solid teal. I used Red Heart multicolor coordinate list (a free pdf file) to find the yarn.

The picture really doesn't do this justice, but I hope you can get an idea of how it looks. The Jeweltone yarn is very elegant in my opinion.

Finished size with fringe is about 6" x 65".

Happy crocheting!

  2. Beautiful Scarf....I love your work.....and You Tube Videos. They are very easy to understand.

Please note....I left a message on your other blog stating that I couldn't find a way to follow this blog. I was having a brain freeze I guess. I am fairly new to blogging, even though I have one of my own, and didn't realize there was a button up above.

    1. There are many different kinds of cables. The only thing I think I have on site is what I call a faux cable. http://www.crochetcabana.com/stitches/stitches-fptrcr-fauxcable.htm
A cable can be made over any number of stitches. There are a number of videos at YouTube and other tutorials online that cover cables made over different numbers of stitches. Here is one you might like to look at online. http://www.crochetspot.com/how-to-crochet-cable-stitches/
