Materials: H hook, 1 skein each Red Heart Super Saver Turqua and Blue.

Size: 6” x 61”

Instructions:
With Turqua, Ch 18
R1: double crochet in each chain across, change to Blue, ch 1 turn. (16 dc)

R2: double crochet in each double crochet across  (16 dc)

R3 to 108: repeat R2 in the following color sequence

R1: Turqua
R2: Blue
R3-4: Turqua
R5-7: Blue
R8-12: Turqua
R13-20: Blue
R21-33: Turqua
R34-54: Blue
R55-75: Turqua
R76-88: Blue
R89-96: Turqua
R97-101: Blue
R102-104: Turqua
R105-106: Blue
R107: Turqua
R108: Blue


Edging: dc around entire scarf,  in corners choose one of the following options (or another of your own choosing)

Corner Options:
A - 3 dc
B - (dc, ch 1, dc, ch 1, dc)
C - (dc, tr, dc)

Triple Ripple video

Yesterday I decided to try video again. It was a bad day to decide that as I had the washing machine going and the dogs inside for much of the day. They added their own soundtrack. However, you can still hear my instructions clearly and I think the video is of better quality, not so grainy. I could have done a better job of staying in frame though.



I will have this pattern for you soon as well. I'm making a scarf to go with it, which is the delay on this one. Should have it finished today if all goes as planned.

Ruffly scarf

This is one of the scarves I've been working on the past few days. It won't be for Special Olympics because it ended up 72"! Way too long for SO.

I haven't finished writing this up yet, but thought I'd give you a preview.

First thing I did was make the filet portion of the scarf, the netting, the background, or whatever you want to call it. That would make a nice scarf in and of itself, if you want something open weave and airy. It won't be as long. I didn't measure it before I did the second part, but if I make another one I will do so.

The netting really doesn't take that long to do. In fact, the entire scarf doesn't take very long, but it takes more yarn than a traditional scarf.

Once the background was done, I took the contrasting yarn and worked (sc, ch 3, sc) around each post in the center portion of the scarf. I did this in a continual stream so the different rows/columns lean in opposite directions. You could work 3 dc around each and it would give you a similar effect of stitches sort of standing up in the center.

Then I worked three double crochets around each post along the outer edge. These did not stand up. The purpose of the outer double crochets was so it would lie flat and not flip under the rest.

You can see that the back and front of this scarf give very different looks. I was pleased with the result.

I also was able to make another Cross Stitch Scarf. It's pretty much the same as the other one.

Materials: H hook, one skein 7 ozs) Red Heart Super Saver Turqua (Color A) and Blue (Color B)

Size: 6" x 58"

Abbreviations:
ch—chain
sc—single crochet
dc—double crochet
hk—hook
st—stitch

Special Stitch:
Cross-Stitch - sk one st, dc in next st, dc in skipped stitch.

Instructions:
Ch 18
R1: dc in 4th ch from hk. * sk next ch, dc in next ch, dc in skipped ch, to complete cross stitch,  rep from * to last two sts, dc in ea of last 2 sts (6 x-st, 4 dc)

R2: ch 2 or 3, turn, dc in ea st across (16 dc)

R3: ch 2, turn, dc in next st, work 12 crossed sts, dc in ea of last 2 sts

R4-100: Repeat R2 and R3 (end on a cross stitch row)

Edging: with Color B, on right side of work, dc around, working (dc, ch 1, dc, ch 1, dc) in corners and 2 dc in ea row along side. Finish off.
