Hook: H/5.0mm Tulip Etimo
Pattern: ch 24, dc across
Size: 6" x 60"
I love all the colors in this yarn. It is rated #4 . I would call it light worsted. The yarn curls the longer you work with it. I think it would do better for shorter projects but it worked out okay. It drapes well and is soft enough.

Yarn: Premier Basix Mosaic in color Sea
Hook: I/5.5mm
Pattern: Scarf 77 at Crochet Cabana
Size: 6" x 61"
This yarn is soft, easy to work with and I think I cut out one knot. I bought three skeins in this color and 2 in a different color so you'll be seeing those soon. This scarf was started a few weeks ago and finished with the new yarn. It matched up well.

Yarn: Big Twist anti-pilling acrylic in color Sage. About 6 ozs used with the smaller chain. You'd probably need two full skeins to work as the pattern
Hook: birth month flower hook H/5.0mm by Hooked by Holtby
Size: 5 1/2" x 60 1/2"
Pattern: Scarf 77 but I used a ch 21 Crochet Cabana

I'm very happy with this yarn. I had no knots to cut out at all. I have a few other colors so I'll be using it again.

The cranberry color doesn't come across well in the picture but it's a pretty color. ZZ Twist is discontinued. You can find some at Etsy if you're interested in trying it.
Yarn: Lion Brand ZZ Twist in cranberry
Hook: I/5.5mm Furls resin
Size: 5 3/4" x 61"
Pattern: ch 22, double crochet across
I also finished this cowl. There wasn't enough to make a scarf. One of the colors is lilac. I didn't have a label for the other one.

I thought I had a second full skein but come to find out it was a partial skein. Even so, I was able to get a 40" scarf from it using a ch 18 with 82 rows.
I love this yarn. The pastel colors are so pretty! It was nice to work with. No knots. I'd definitely buy it again if I had the opportunity.

Some time ago I shared a video demonstrating how to create a triple strand from a single strand (using one skein). I have since learned this method is called Navajo plying or Navajo chain plying. Fiber Spider has a video demonstration of the method for both crochet and knitting. I also saw Hooked by Robin has a demo on Facebook which is what reminded me about this.
I decided to make a scarf with my #1 fingering yarn using this method rather than messing with three skeins. When I got to the end of the skein, however, I wasn't sure how to proceed. To the rescue, Briana K. She shows the very simple way to add a skein. Her original demo of the Navajo plying technique is here. That is where I first saw this technique.
Here's the scarf, made with my candy corn I/5.5mm hook by Laurie Whitaker. The thick handles are wonderful for my arthritic hands/wrist.
Yarn: Knit Picks (Special Reserve) Felici, made in Italy, in color Time Traveler. It is 75% superwash merino, 25% nylon. Each skein is 218yds, 50grams. It is #1 Fingering Weight.
I bought this yarn initially because it reminded me of the 4th Doctor Who's scarf. I had a limited quantity of this yarn which is why I started with a smaller number of chains, making a narrow scarf.
Hook: I/5.5mm
Pattern: dc across using the Navajo Plying technique
Size: about 5" x 60"

Yarn: Lion Brand Mandala in Centaur.
Hook: H/5.0mm by Laurie Whitaker
Size: about 5" x 71"
Pattern: hdc across. I don't know how many rows. I just kept going until I ran out of yarn. It was a partial skein but quite a bit of it.
I've actually been working on this one for a few days in between other things. I've never been a fan of hdc but I decided I wanted to give it a chance and I'm really pleased with how it came out. It did take longer to finish because, of course, the stitch is shorter than the dc which I usually use.
For the hdc rows I chained one and went into the first stitch. There are 20 stitches across.

Latest finished scarf. This is a long, thin scarf. Finished size is about 5" x 68". The yarn is Lion Brand Mandala in color Pegasus. I used a #7/4.5mm Tulip hook.
I'm still thinking about whether I want to put a border around this one. I used the griddle stitch. I didn't count the rows but just kept stitching. :-)

This scarf uses I Love This Yarn white, Universal Uptown Worsted Spirit Stripes in color Fight Song (the orange and white variegated), and Furls Wander acrylic yarn. The dark blue is Midnight and I think the orange is Cabin. I used an H hook. The foundation chain is 20. I worked 130 rows in Bev's Conference Scarf pattern.

This scarf is made with Whims Merino yarn, a superwash Merino wool yarn. It was sold by Furls at the time I bought it, but they don't carry it now. The colors - Teal, Mustard, Pink and Blue. 50% superwash Merino wool and 50% nylon. I used an H hook which was given to me as a gift. The pattern is Bev's Conference Scarf.

I came across some heart squares that were leftover from an afghan I made a while ago. I decided to put them together into a scarf.
I used an H hook and used I Love This Yarn black for the single crochet border. I would have preferred a gold or tan but I didn't have any.
Finished size is about 8" x 64".

Another scarf. This one is about 6 1/2" x 63". As all the scarves the past two years or so I used leftover balls for the different colors. There are 10 rows on some and 5 rows on others. The white is I Love This Yarn and is 5 rows each section between the colored ones. I used my owl H hook by Laurie Whitaker which is one of my favorite hooks. It has a thick handle which helps my poor old hands.
Since I had white in the scarf I decided to add a white border on this one.

I think some of the yarn in this one might have been from one of the o'go things.
I worked each color to however much it made - they were all 6 or 7 rows. Then I did three rows of black as I knew I didn't have enough to make it long enough without that addition. I got it to 6" x 58". I worked a round of single crochet as a border.
The hook is a Snoopy I hook from Laurie. The pattern is straight dc. The chain is 20.

Next up is a scarf made from what I'm almost sure is Red Heart Super Saver in Favorite Stripes. I used an I hook from Laurie. The black used for the single crochet border is I Love This Yarn. Size is about 6" x 66". I worked a chain of 20 with 113 rows in straight double crochet.
This one is bright, happy colors. If you're one who likes bright colors you will love this yarn. It is Red Heart so it's not really soft to work with but it wasn't too bad and I know it will soften after washing.

Scrap scarf using H/5.0mm Tulip hook. This is truly a scrap scarf as I just grabbed the next ball I could find that was close in thickness.

I found a skein in my stash of Lion Brand Mandala Ombre in color Balance. It was almost a full skein but not quite. I wasn't sure how far it would get me so I started with a smaller chain of 18 for a narrower scarf and worked 134 rows. Finished size is about 4 1/2" x 66" with an H Tulip hook. It's straight dc.
I'm pleased with how it came out. It's light-weight though it is a #4 worsted yarn. I would call it light worsted. The label suggests an I hook but I chose an H and I think it worked out well.
Happy crocheting!

This scarf was made with yarns of varied colors. The white is I Love This Yarn. Finished size is about 6" x 66". Pattern is straight dc with four rows of white between each color and a round of sc in white around. There are 138 rows.
I'm quite pleased with the way this came out. The hardest part is finding yarn that matches in thickness. Sometimes it is hard to tell even when putting them side by side. That could be my bad eyes. LOL That said, I think I did an okay job of it.

Here is the last Bitty Stripes scarf from the two skeins I had, 10 oz to a skein. It's smaller than the previous ones at 5" x 48". I used a Furls wooden I/5.5mm hook. I started with a chain of 18 and worked 85 rows.

For this scarf I actually know what the yarn is. It is I Love This Yarn.Well, I don't know the exact color of the blue but the other one is white.
The hook is by Laurie Whitaker. It's a size I/5.5mm. The pattern is Bev's Conference Scarf.
It's about 62" long. I worked 10 rows of each color.

Latest scrap scarf. I used an H hook which was gifted to me by my friend Fran. It's the January birth month hook. The pattern is once again Bev's as in previous posts. It's all scrap yarn from my stash. The foundation chain is 22.

It's been taking me a bit longer to finish a project these days as I still have trouble with my right hand, but I'm persevering.
Here's the latest scarf off my hook. I used an H hook from Laurie Whitaker. The pattern is Bev's pattern . I don't know what yarn this is. The grey section is slightly shorter than the multi-colored section. There are 140 rows.

Next scarf...
H hook, 5 1/2" x 66", 145 rows, Bev's scarf pattern. I think the yarn is various shades of Two Wands Color Theory. It is a 100% acrylic, worsted weight yarnd sold by Lion Brand.

Here's a wide scarf 10" x 62" made in Mandala Sparkle Draco. I used a Tulip Etimo #7 4.5mm. The pattern is the Raspberry Lattice Blanket by Lauren Brown at Daisy Cottage. I just adjusted it for a scarf.
I only did one round of single crochet as a border because I'm still using stash yarn and I wasn't sure if I'd have enough to do all the rounds (I wouldn't have). I think it came out quite nice. This is one of my favorite yarns and color schemes.

Two more scarves to add to the bin...
The first one was made with one skein of Sweet Delight Baby in color Peapod. 377 yds, 4 ozs.I used a G hook. I used Bev's Conference Scarf pattern. I worked 140 rows.
I changed it up this weekend and worked on plastic canvas crosses.
I bought the crosses a long time ago so I don't remember where I got them. I see them at Amazon though so if you want to make them you can possibly get them there.
These are so easy to make and take just a minute or so to do. I cut strips of yarn.

I had a few skeins of Stylecraft Batik Swirl in shade 3736 Meadow and decided to continue with scarves using these. I used my Bella Coco Athena G hook which came all the way from the UK (Thanks, Sarah Jayne).
This yarn is 80% acrylic and 20% wool so I put a tag on it noting the wool content as some might have allergies.
I chained 25 and used straight dc for 140 rows.
I worked on these while quite sick with a respiratory virus hubby brought home from a recent trip. It took no concentration but gave a nice finished look with pretty colors.
I'm still working on getting rid of this illness but doing a bit better.

Here is the next batch of scrap scarves. One is a little shorter in length but the rest are 60" or longer.
As noted in the previous post, most of the scarves I've made so far have been made using Bev's WC scarf pattern. I chained 20 or 22 and worked 120 rows on most, more on some. (The shorter one has 114 rows as I ran out of yarn.)
I still have a bin of leftovers in #4 worsted and one in #3 weight. I also have some #1 weight. I'm working through it all since May 2023.
Happy crocheting!

More scrap scarves!
Most of the scarves I've made so far have been made using Bev's WC scarf pattern. I chained 20 or 22 and worked 120 rows on most, more on some. One of these I did with the griddle stitch just to do something different. These are all #4 worsted yarns though as you know not all worsted yarns are the same.
All of the scarves I've made so far have been washed and put aside for when it gets cold.
Happy crocheting!

I thought I'd share a picture of my latest hook. It is by Laurie Whitaker. We all like owls. :-)
I took some "better" pictures of the scrap scarves I've been making. Hopefully, you can see the variety of colors in them. There are 11 in total so far.
