I finished the Fibonacci scarf today. You might remember that Fibonacci numbers are 0,1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, and 21 for this use and then I go backwards working another 21, then 13 etc.
I put a round of hdc edging but I should have used dc as it was a bit shy of 6". I didn't realize just how much thinner this yarn is. I have adjusted my thoughts though and will treat it much less Wool Ease which is a thinner yarn.
Length is about 59 1/2".
I am presently working on a chevron scarf. I'm using the DC Chevron (two chevron version) on this page at Crochet Cabana. If you decide to use that pattern, how about making one for Knit Your Bit as well?
I'm hearing thunder outside now so I think I'll go crochet. What do those two have to do with one another? Nothing really. LOL I just want to crochet.
Happy crocheting!

heart square / videos
Yesterday I saw a square over at my friend Ghost's blog called Pink Crush. You can find the original pattern here. I decided I must try this square as I love hearts. :-)
The square was very easy to work, but it ruffled on me as I got further along. Not sure why. It is not so much that I think it would be a problem when assembling. Just doesn't lie flat.
I'm still working on videos so if you know someone who needs a quick tutorial and works better by video, have them pop on by the YouTube channel.
I truly enjoy teaching by video. There is only one thing that is bothersome about it. If I make a mistake and don't catch it on the editing, it is there forever! You know I will never be able to find it again even if I realize it. I am apt to say thread instead of strand or yarn and I realized I mispronounced a word in one of the videos yesterday but could never find it today to fix it. In any case, I hope you will forgive me my errors and enjoy the instruction!

yo-yo day / share a square delivery
Yesterday was International Yo-Yo Day. They have may have meant the toy yo-yos, but we crocheters take that word a little more seriously. LOL I spent the day working on more videos for the individual tutorials, even though my computer and YouTube got together to make this as difficult as possible. There was a purpose to the madness though as while I waited for the excruciatingly slow process, I made yo-yos. (I don't know if you are supposed to put a dash in there or not, but I do.)
I completed 90 which will be headed to Dawn to make into her beautiful ghans for charity. I also included the saltines I made the other day in this package.
You might recall all the squares I made for Share a Square. I am happy to report that the first bunch of afghans has been delivered right here in my home state of Louisiana to Camp Quality, a summer camp for kids with cancer. You can see photos of the delivery and the details at http://thiseclecticlife.com/2011/06/07/louisiana-afghan-delivery/ . I love photos of all kinds, but seeing these happy kids is surely a blessing and makes one want to continue the good work.
Shelley intends to continue this effort for next summer, but has not begun collecting squares yet. Delivery of the rest of the completed afghans to the remaining two camps will be made during the summer when those camps open.
I have also continued to work on new videos. These have been put on the respective pages at crochetcabana.com and are, of course, on the YouTube channel as well. I haven't added them to the videos page at CC yet though. My computer was soooo slow yesterday, but today seems to be doing a little better. Last night it told me it would take over 100 minutes to upload a video that was only a few minutes long!
Gotta love the 'net. :-)
Anyway, check them out if you like.

First Special Olympic Scarf
I have finished my first Special Olympics scarf for the coming year.
As I've mentioned previously, the colors are Red Heart Super Saver – 387 Soft Navy, Red Heart Super Saver – 319 Cherry Red, Red Heart Soft – 4604 Navy, Red Heart Soft – 9925 Really Red.
The only other requirements are:
Length: Approximately 54-60 inches long
Width: Approximately 6 inches wide
This first scarf is approximately 6" x 57".
Pattern notes: with H hook, ch 21, the first two rows and the last two rows are dc. The middle rows are 5dc, (ch 1, sk 1, dc) until you have 5 holes, and finish the row with dc in each remaining stitch. You will have 5 dc at the end of the row. So to abbreviate that you will have 5 dc, 5 holes, 5 dc.
The edging is one round dc working (dc, ch 1, dc, 1, dc) in corners, then one round of sc working (sc, ch 1, sc, ch 1, sc) in the center dc of the previous round. I worked a sc in the ch-1 space of that round also.
Now to decide on my second pattern. I am itching to do another of the pergola scarves even though I remember it was a little complicated to do. :-) But of course I must do a Fibonacci and a Lucas scarf as well. That is sort of a tradition.
I noticed in a blog post about these scarves that I mentioned my measure included the fringe. In the Special Olympic details it does say to include the fringe in your measurements so that is what I will do on those scarves for which I include fringe.
